I finally saw and reviewed Precious . In terms of painting a flattering portrayal of black life, it makes The Birth of a Nation look like Guess Who’s Coming to Dinner. That said, it’s also got some of the biggest laughs I’ve ever enjoyed in a movie. I’m not even joking. Just watch one of the countless Mo’Nique and Gabby Sidibe fight scenes. It’s like Looney Toons. If Bugs and Daffy called each other the n word.
